Coopers Rock
So I finally got outside to do some bouldering. James and I headed out Saturday morning for the 3 hour drive to Coopers Rock. It was a late start, so we got there around 1. Cloudy and cold, but perfect temps, and the rain held off. We decided to check out the Roadside area.
Got on some warm up stuff with a few other climbers. From there we found a nearby problem called Bizzaro. Great problem, although took a while to figure out, not use to having to look for my own holds. Totally missed some the first few tries. I managed to get it eventually.
After that only a few feet away was another cool looking problem called Helicopter. Big flakes on a nice roof, problem was it was only about 2 feet off the ground, so was a lot harder than it looked! After a lot of thinking I finally managed to figure out the moves, Helicopter is a great name... hint hint. Stepped away before going for the send. We wondered around looking at some other stuff before finally going back.
Got on it and was ready to send when I tweaked my hamstring which hurt the lower back. Dammit! Think I got too cold and strained too hard
in an awkward position (see photo). Should have known better since I have the bad back. Anyway, didn't get the send, and now I'm trying to nurse the leg and back so I can get some sending done back in Halifax.

Visit from the Parents
So my plan to update things a little more often has backfired. Seems that I just don't have the motivation to write anything when nothing exciting is going on. It's tough when there is little kiting or climbing to be had.
One fun thing lately was my parents visiting for the weekend. We had lots of fun visiting the DC sites and hanging out. Mom got lots of xmas shopping done at the outlet and malls. I know that made her happy! Sad to seem them have to go home today.
On that note, anyone back home who still pokes their noises in here... I'll be back on Dec 9 and looking for a lot of bouldering to make up for lost time here!
Also looks like the week in HP40 I was planning is going to turn into a week in OBX. Good trade. Scott can't make it here, but some others from home are coming to kite.
Well, that's all for this time...
Keeping on keeping on
Well, I sure haven't been keeping up with much on my site in a while. I'm hoping to change that moving forwards. I doubt many even come here anymore with such lack of anything. No videos, minimal pictures. Anyway, things are things. It is what it is.
It's become a lot more difficult to get climbing, being closest area is 3 hours away. Kiting has also been on the low due to crap weather and no wind, along with a highway drive.
I may start posting more about other things going on. More recently since I haven't been able to get out doing what I love I've been doing some iPhone development. A few projects in the works there, hopefully they will come together soon and I can officially release them.
That's all for now. I'll aim for at least one update a week for now.....
